Client
Sample UK Distribution Ltd
Wholesale distribution · 6 legal entities · £42m turnover
The problem
Sample UK Distribution had grown by acquisition into six legal entities running three different ERPs. Their group close took 12 working days, finance staff were spending two days a month reconciling intercompany balances by hand, and the board pack was being assembled from PDF exports.
They had been quoted £680k by a Tier 1 partner for a 14-month rebuild. They wanted a less risky path that did not require freezing acquisitions for over a year.
What we did
We delivered a single-tenant Business Central environment with all six legal entities consolidated, plus Konsolidator for group reporting. Total project time: nine months. Total cost: £218k — under a third of the alternative quote.
Phase 1 — Discovery (4 weeks)
Two-week scoping engagement. Process maps signed off by the group FD before a line of code was written. Fixed-scope SOW signed.
Phase 2 — Build (6 months)
Migration scripts for each of the three legacy ERPs, custom intercompany dimensions in BC, Yavrio bank-feed integration for daily reconciliation, and Konsolidator for group consolidation reporting.
Phase 3 — UAT & cut-over (4 weeks)
Real users ran a parallel month-end on real data. Cut-over weekend was uneventful. Amplio team on-call for 14 days post go-live.
“Amplio delivered a six-entity BC consolidation in nine months for less than a third of the price we’d been quoted. Two months in we already knew it was the right call.”

Five questions with the group FD
Q. What was the biggest concern going in?
A. Scope creep. We’d been bitten before — the previous partner kept finding extra work. Amplio’s fixed-scope SOW removed that worry.
Q. What surprised you most?
A. The two-week discovery. We’d expected to spend a month explaining our business. Amplio came in with the right questions on day one.
Q. Anything you’d do differently?
A. Started six months earlier. The ROI is so clear in hindsight that we should have moved faster.
Q. How was the go-live weekend?
A. Quiet. We finished by Saturday afternoon and the Amplio team were on-call but barely needed.
Q. Would you recommend Amplio?
A. Already have. Two of our suppliers have started conversations with them on our recommendation.
