MobileNAV — native mobile front-end for Business Central

MobileNAV is a native mobile client for Business Central and NAV — designed for the people in your business who don't sit at a desk. Field sales reps taking orders at customer sites. Warehouse pickers on handheld scanners. Service engineers logging time and parts on a tablet between callouts. The web BC client works on a phone, but is not designed for these workflows; MobileNAV is. Vendor: MobileNAV (over 25 major versions); AppSource-listed; Amplio installs and supports.

What it does

  • Native apps for iOS 15+, Android 5+ and Windows 10/11. True native — leverages each platform's camera, GPS, barcode-scanner APIs, and offline storage.
  • Offline-tolerant — work continues with no network; changes sync when connectivity returns. Auto-online-offline mode picks the strategy automatically.
  • Inherits your BC customisations — fields you added in BC appear in MobileNAV without rebuilding the form. Vertical solutions and AppSource extensions are supported.
  • Module breadth — Sales (orders, quotes, customer visits), Purchase, Service Management (work orders, time, parts), Warehouse Management (picks, receipts, transfers, inventory counts), Project Management, Production.
  • Handheld scanner support — certified on Honeywell CT60, Intermec CN51, Zebra ET55 and similar industrial devices. Works with Bluetooth scanners (SocketScan S800, DuraScan D700).
  • BC and NAV coverage — current MobileNAV runs against BC (cloud and on-prem) plus NAV 2016 / 2017 / 2018. Older MobileNAV versions reach back to NAV 2013 and earlier for legacy estates.

Why we recommend it

The web BC client is fine on a desktop and tolerable on a tablet. Once you put it on a phone in a warehouse aisle or on a service van's dashboard, the experience falls apart — too much chrome, no offline, no native scanner integration, latency too high for someone scanning a hundred items in succession. MobileNAV solves all four. The other two products in this space (the BC web client itself, and a custom-built Power App) either don't go far enough or cost more to maintain over time. MobileNAV ships with the workflows already built and tracks each BC release wave.

The Amplio service wrap

Typical engagement is 2–4 weeks for a single-module rollout (warehouse picking, or field sales, etc.) and longer for multi-module deployments. We handle BC AppSource install of the MobileNAV server-side extension, device enrolment for your team, custom-form configuration so the mobile screens reflect your BC fields, training (one session per role — pickers, sales, engineers — typically 60–90 minutes), and ongoing support. Hardware procurement is your call; we'll advise but we're not a device reseller.

Best fit for

  • Field sales teams taking orders at customer sites who today phone or email orders back to the office.
  • Warehouses moving from paper picking to mobile or handheld picking.
  • Service businesses where engineers log time and parts on jobs.
  • Multi-warehouse or multi-site distributors needing consistent inventory operations across locations.
  • Anyone whose remote workers currently call the office to look up data in BC.

Not the right fit if

  • You only need a small number of users with light, occasional BC access on a phone — the standard BC mobile web client is free and may be enough.
  • You have a niche workflow that no MobileNAV module covers — a custom Power App may be cheaper. We'll tell you straight.

Pricing & procurement

Frequently asked questions

Are you the reseller, or do we buy direct from MobileNAV?

Both work. Amplio is a MobileNAV partner; we can procure the licence or you can buy direct on AppSource. We don’t insist on margin on the licence.

What’s the cheapest MobileNAV tier?

The single-module subscription (e.g. Sales or Warehouse only) starts at around £150/user/month. Pricing scales by module count.

Can we trial MobileNAV first?

Yes — AppSource trials run 30 days. We can stand up a sandbox BC tenant with MobileNAV preconfigured for one or two of your most-used modules so the trial is realistic.

What modules are available?

Sales, Service, Warehouse, Inventory, Production, Project — most of BC’s transactional surface. Each module is a separately licensed mobile UI on top of native BC tables.

How long does a MobileNAV implementation take?

2–4 weeks per module — fixed scope per module, fixed go-live date. Multiple modules can run in parallel.

Does MobileNAV work offline?

Yes for warehouse and field-service flows — orders cached on-device sync when the user comes back online. The other modules are online-only.
