Hello, and welcome to the first issue of The BC Close. Each month I will share what Microsoft has changed in Business Central, one tip from our FastBC demo films, and one thing we found while working on a real system.
Latest from Microsoft
From Microsoft's notes for Business Central version 29.0 (published 29 September 2026), three changes for finance teams:
- Run multiple financial reports and get a single PDF output. Several financial reports can be run together and come out as one PDF.
- Financial report changes are now always logged. Every change to a financial report is now logged.
- Bookmark list views and analysis tabs. The list views and analysis tabs you use most can be bookmarked.

Tip of the month
From quote to cash, with nothing typed twice
Our seven-minute film follows one order for a hotel group from quote to order, shipment, invoice and payment in Business Central, set up by FastBC.
The tip is in the last step: when you record a payment in the cash receipt journal, apply it to its invoice before you post.
Skip that and the account shows an unpaid invoice and a spare payment side by side, and the customer can get a reminder for a bill already paid.
From our work
What we found this month: a web price list about 20% too high
While checking a UK distributor's web price list, we compared every line with the price on its item card.
908 lines had been entered at the price including VAT, while the item cards hold the price before VAT, so those web prices were about 20% too high.
We built the correction and proved it line by line in a copy of their system first. It goes live when they sign it off.
